How Many League Titles Have The Rangers Won, Which Is Also A World Record?

Glasgow Rangers have won their own domestic title on a world record fifty one separate occasions, winning the title fifty times out right and sharing the title once.

Together with city rivals Celtic, the pair have dominated Scottish football, and whilst their green and white neighbours may have the more successful record in European competition, Rangers have the edge of the Bhoys.

In amongst the fifty one titles, Rangers retained the Scottish premier league title in nine successive seasons from nineteen eighty nine, until nineteen ninety seven. Added to this Rangers also secured the Scottish treble (league, Scottish FA cup and league cup), in the nineteen ninety two, ninety three season.

Four players featured in all nine of Rangers title winning sides, Richard Gough, Ally McCoist, Ian Ferguson and Ian Durrant, collected nine championship winning medals during this period.

In all Rangers have won one hundred and seven major honours to date.

To date (up to and including the season two thousand and five, two thousand and six), Glasgow Rangers have won the Scottish legue championship on fufty one seperate occasions.

This is a domestic league record, with no other team in the world wining thier own domestic league on more occasions.

Rangers first won the league championship way back in eighteen ninety eight, eighty nine season and they went on to sucessively defend the title until nineteen hundred and two, three.

Since league football was formed in Scotland in eighteen ninety, only elven seperate clubs have been crowned champions.

After Rangers, their fierce rivals Celtic come next, with the Hoops having won the league on forty seperate occasions. Such is the Glasgow clubs dominance in their domestic league, between them they have collected the honour ninety one times. The league title has only not been won by one of the Glasgow clubs on eighteen occasions to date.
