Canada won the hockey game vs USA which puts them to 14 - new world record of MOST gold medals ever won during the winter olympics.  But overall I don't know who is in the lead but either way Canada rocks your socks off.

In one single year.  Canada in 2010 with 14 golds.  Add up all the years of the olympics.  That looks like it could be norway

You're all wrong, thats overall, like every games put together. The real answer is that Soviet Union  in 1976 games won 13 Golds, then in 2002 Russia won 13 golds as well. Currently Canada also is tied for this record with 13 Golds in the Vancouver 2010 games. If Canada beats USA today then  they will receive 14 Golds which will be a new Olympic record for most GOLD medals ever won at a single Olympic Winter Games.

As the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games approached, all of our aspiring Canadian athletes looked forward to one goal; to win gold. As the games occurred, many athletes achieved beyond their expectations. Even though our athletes didn’t own the podium with the most medals, our athletes were on top with the most gold’s ever won in a single Olympic game
