All time great star the mighty khan "Imran Khan "was the brave captain of the Pakistan cricket team in 1992 world cup. The Cricket World Cup in 1992 ( Benson & Hedges World Cup) was the fifth edition of the tournament and was won by Pakistan. It was held from February 22 to March 25, 1992 in Australia and New Zealand.The final was played at the MCC Melbourne cricket ground which is the world largest cricket stadium. The first World Cup to have day/night matches, it was the first World Cup to use white cricket balls and coloured team uniforms. Pakistan batted first and set a target of 250 for England. Imran khan hammered a brilliant innings of 71 runs, Javed Mindad scored 58 and wasim akram played a quick brilliant knock of 34 runs.
While batting second England could not manage to reach the target and were all out at 224 in 49.2 overs. Leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took 3/41 and wasim akram took 3/49.
Wasim akram was declared Man of the match for his brilliant all round performance.
So in this way paksitan won the final by 22 runs and making history in the leadership of a fighter captain IMRAN KHAN
