There are evidences of ball games being played with feet in ancient Romans and Greek in the period during 300 BC. There is also evidence of the game being played in the Chinese and Japanese culture. However, the game became very popular in the Middle ages in Europe and there were matches held especially in England. The proper rules for the game were established in the 1800s and later adjusted in the 1900s.

The English football was invented in the year 1863. It is named as the FA which stands for the 'Football Association'. It is the head governing body of football in England. All the current rules of football were actually made by the English Football Association. The current president of the 'Football Association' is Prince William of Wales. It is a compulsion for all the professional football clubs to become the members of the Football Association.

The FA has the right to punish a player if he is found guilty of drug abuse or misconduct on and off the field. Missing a drug test organised by FA is also a punishable offence. If a player is found guilty of drug abuse then he or she can be banned by the FA for whatever period of time they choose.

The English Football Association is one of the oldest Football Associations in the world.

You don't know, so why answer?
The book you're talking about was written in the 17th cent. By a school teacher (David Wedderburn) to teach boys Latin. It is called "Vocabula". It uses sporting themes as this is something boys would be familiar with and find interesting. There is one short paragraph about football, nothing in it that cannot be found in other older manuscripts from England. Of more interest is the golf passage contains the first written mention of a hole.
