In boxing there are four rounds each consisting of 2 minutes, there is also a one minute break between the rounds. The boxers can only punch each other on the front of the head or on the side. Throwing punches on the front of the torso is also allowed. Losers are either decided by the Knock Out system or on points. Points are awarded only on the basis of getting a clean hit on the authorized part of the opponent's body. Points are also reduced for throwing illegal punches.

Throwing punches below the belt, or spitting or pushing your opponent is against the rules of boxing. Delivering a kidney punch is also illegal. A boxer cannot duck below the belt line of his opponent. Use of head, forearm, elbow or shoulder is strictly against the rules.
