You mean how many? Depends on the player the position they play and the level they're playing at I'd say. The stat guys do somehow measure this (here's an article on the subject blogs.wsj.com ) but it varies so much there's no way you can say how far players in general run.
In the article it say Genarro Gattuso ran 10km in that Champion's league game but I've seen a Chelsea game where the team average was around 4km and Michael Ballack ran almost 6km so it depends completely on the player. Midfielders and full backs will run the furthest with centre backs and strikers running the least distance.
