The game Rock-It-Ball was founded and developed in North Yorkshire. It was developed during 2005 and was later introduced to the public at large in February 2006. The reason the sport is gaining so much official promotion and attention is due to the fact that it has attracted several teenagers to its folds. The equipment for the game was developed by, the Leeds Metropolitan University's Carnegie Faculty. Since it is a new game the rules as such are a little flexible but basic principles involve two teams playing each other in teams of players each. There are a total of four balls in the game as well. In case the number of players is five on each side then the number of balls is also increased to five. The aim of the game is to score points by hitting opponent players with a ball. If the opposing player manages to trap an incoming ball he or she gains two points. Each player is armed with a stick or pole with a scoop that is moulded at the end.
