The first step will be to get a list of football clubs in Ghana or South Africa. Then it will have to be a case of getting contact details, contacting them and asking if they wish to enlist new players. Another option is to join one of the local, non-professional teams to start with, performing incredibly well and hoping that a talent scout for one of the bigger teams may be around.

  • Club Websites
Most football clubs have official websites where information with regards to youth academies, scouting and trials can be found. Ajax Cape Town, for instance, recently held some open trials for youngsters between the ages of 11 and 16 at the Ajax training ground.

Other premier league teams, such as AmaZulu and the Kaizer Chiefs, for example, equally have youth development schemes in place, while others still, such as Bloemfontein Celtic, are in the process of putting such facilities into place.

  • First Division Teams
Many of the first division teams also have their official websites, although it has not been possible to establish how much youth work, if any, is being provided here. It is, however, possible to get contact details for many of the clubs this way.

  • Finding Contact Details
For many of the clubs, it is possible to locate contact details by using one of the links provided in the first paragraph of this article, then selecting the desired club. This will lead on to individual pages about the chosen clubs, obviously dependent on availability, at the bottom of most of which links to the respective official websites are provided.

It should be noted that although no actual articles exist for some of the clubs listed, for many of them there is still a link to their website to be found somewhere on the page.
