Alex Song is a professional Association Football (soccer) player who currently plays for Arsenal F.C and Cameroon as a midfielder. Born Alexandre Dimitri Song Billong on the 9th of September 1987 in Douala, Cameroon, Song has become one of Arsenal's most important players, especially since the sale of fellow midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri in 2011.
Song joined Arsenal from French team Bastia at the age of 17 after impressing manager Arsene Wenger in a trial for the club; and since then he has matured and improved to become a very accomplished and consistent performer. Alex Song is currently believed to be earning £55,000 per week although this may rise in the near future as it is believed that Arsenal will be rewarding him with a new contract.
