I think Ozil is a great player, but hasnt been used in his correct position.

Arsenal really need a strong defensive midfielder to take the pressure off players like Ozil. That way, he can focus on what he does best, getting the ball and distributing perfect passes that lead to goals.

Also important to remember, Ozil is the kind of player that you're not meant to notice until it's too late... It's part of the magic that he can pick the ball up in a "safe zone" and turn that passage of play into a goal scoring opportunity.

I think once him and Welbeck click, it could be lethal!

I think Wenger showed at the weekend that having faith in Ozil paid off. Yes, Arsenal paid a huge amount of money for him, but it's worth remembering that he's still only 25, and that money represents future investment and potential, as well as current ability. The type of player he is means he may drift in and out of games more than say, a Steven Gerrard, who likes to dictate the game and drive the team forward. Ozil's strengths are his guile and touch, and his capacity to create opportunities out of nothing with his natural instincts and technique.

I think if Wenger continues to support him and allows him to develop partnerships with Wilshire and Ramsey in midfield, he could become every bit as successful and influential as Frank Lampard was at Chelsea or Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.

I don't think Mesut Ozil is overrated. Arsene Wenger has been playing his club-record signing out of position on the wing, but the Germany international clearly excels in the middle, preferably behind the striker.

Just look at Villa Park on Saturday, the 25-year-old scored a goal and made an assist when Wenger played his star man in the No10 position. It is common sense to play your most prized asset in his best position.

If Wenger deploys Ozil in the No10 role more often, the World Cup winner will prove anything but underrated!

Mesut Ozil is without a shadow of a doubt a very talented footballer, although I do personally think that he's slightly overrated by Arsenal FC supporters in particular.

I think the reason for this is because Arsenal FC have very rarely spent large sums of money on individual players when you compare their spending to other big European clubs.  Therefore, when they finally did spend a large sum of money on Ozil, he was branded as a world class player.

In reality, I think Ozil's talents lie in a bracket just below world class, and as such, too much is expected of him.  This has been evident so far throughout his Arsenal career as supporters expect too much from him.  When he doesn't deliver world class performances, he criticised pretty harshly when in actual fact, he's probably played fairly well.

Value for money

I think with modern transfer fees, it's easy for a player's transfer fee to dictate how good he's supposed to be.  As such, people assume Ozil and other players of a similar price are world class before he's had time to actually prove it.

Therefore, I do actually think that Ozil is slightly overrated by most people.  He's undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, but he's nowhere near as talented as the likes of Suarez, Ronaldo, Bale, or Messi, for example.

Still, this video shows just how much of a great player Ozil is!
