Part of the foundation's achievements was in the building of a hospital in Abidjan, the largest city in the Ivory Coast, and Drogba's place of birth. The foundation has also built an orphanage and a Red Cross facility in the city. So, in this way, Didier Drogba has helped medical doctors to practice and save lives in his home country.
Didier has used a great deal of his own money to fund the project, including the proceeds from his official autobiography and his fee from his endorsement of Pepsi-Cola. In 2010, he also organised a charity ball to raise money for the foundation.
