Steven gerrard made his debut for England on the thirty first of May two thousand.

Despite his late inclusion into the England set up Gerrard still made Kevin Keegan's Enghland squad that played in Euro two thousand in Holland and Belguim.

Although his early England was blighted by niggling injuries he was still a pivotal part of Englands two thousand and two world cup qualifying team, scoring the second goal and Gerrard's first for England in the five one hammering of Germany in Munich.

Despite ensuring England qualified for the tournament in the far east, Gerrard's injury curse meant he missed out on the trip to Japan and South Korea, having to wait until Euro two thousand and four before playing in a major international tournament.

Since then and after putting his injury problems behind him, Gerrard went on to play a part in every one of England's matches in the world cup two thousand and six.
