The bernoulli effect applies to pitching in baseball the most.  When a pitcher throws a curveball, the pitcher exerts a force on one side of the ball creating a topspin.  The topspin on the ball creates an area of low pressure on the side of the ball that didnt have the force exerted on it.  The area of low pressure makes the ball spin faster on that side, creating the curveball effect.
