It's easy all you have to do is lay back and put your ears in the water and your head up to the ceiling and kick your legs in the water. I was a beginner when I was in year 3 and I leaned!

Hi :) maybe I can help.. I'm a swimmer and I learned to float when I was 3. My coach told me to keep calm and take a deep breath. Then hold on to the walls of the pool and try to lay back.. And float!

You can float by holding a full breath of air in your lungs. To remain floating "on lungs" exhale fully then quickly inhale. You can do this with your face in the water (survivor float). I'm sure it works while on your back also.

Floating is more difficult for those with more muscle mass.
