There are several things to consider here.

The first is that you must be a citizen of South Africa in order to play for their team. If you weren’t born in South Africa, that doesn’t rule you out. There are visas that you can get in order to be a temporary citizen. For more information on qualifying for a visa, you can check out south-africa.visahq.com/

The ABSA is the top league that you can play for. Depending upon your skill in soccer, this may be near to impossible. You may want to consider playing for the National First Division first, where you’ll be able to prove and show your abilities to the coaches and teams so that you can work your way up to the ABSA league.

If you are playing for a team now, you may want to ask your coach the best route to take. If you are currently playing competitively for another country, they may have more pull to help you than if you try to take this on yourself. Otherwise, you’ll need to contact the team that you want to play on and let them know your ambitions.

Once you’ve contacted the team you want to play for, a few things will happen. They will either tell you when the next open tryouts are. You would go there and play a few games and go through a variety of exercises where the coaches can see if you’ve got the talent. If you don’t make it to that, the team will usually give you an idea of what you will need to do. It may involve playing at a lower level for awhile to establish yourself.

I am Tevin Stungu, I am 15 years old, I have been playing soccer in the promotion league for two years and I would like to have a trial at any soccer academy in S.A or at any soccer team in S.A that I am sure I can get recognition at. I have got 3 certificates at school for soccer in the first team in 2006 I was runner-up for the best player, 2008 I was again runner-up for best player and finally in 2009 I was the best player in school. I have won 1 medal for my team in the two years I have spent with them and it was a siver medal, I got 1 medal playing in the Mayors Cup tournament representing Mnquma District Municipality played in Dutywa and it was a gold medal. I play in centre back position also as a right back and central midfielder. I am a disciplined, tough marking, tactical, and pressurising defending player. I hope my wish to play for a team outside butterworth can come true because I have passion for soccer and I wish it can come at the young age I am now.

You can go to the official website of that soccer team and read all the rules and regulation of recruitment and selection of a player. Fit yourself best for that criteria and drop your resume to apply for that league. Once they will get your profile attractive, they will give you a call and you can join them if they will find you good enough for their team. There is another way and that is to join the player academy from which the selection of that team had always been done. So that you can prove yourself to be the best in that academy and get yourself selected in the team.

You guys think you have skill but you don't. The only way you can get into playing football and really become good is to play for your school. Then you make first team in school and play at Easterns. If they think you're good enough, they promote you to provincial. Then clubs in the PSL have scouts there. This is how I made it. I'm 16 now playing club for wits and at school first team. Next year I got a chance at Arsenal's academy to play for a month and then they'll rate me and see if I'm good enough.
